Introducing 3.2Gbps, 1Gb GDDR5 Graphics DRAM with low power supply voltage |
Introduction |
Hynix Semiconductor has introduced 1Gb GDDR5 Graphics DRAM with 1.35V power supply voltage and has started technical validation of the product since July, 2009.
The newly introduced 1Gb GDDR5 is built on the company's state-of-the-art 54 nanometer process technology. The product features data transfer rates up to 3.2Gbps, which translates to bandwidth of 12.8GB/s. The product is designed to lower power consumption by a minimum of 30% compared to the 1.5V power supply option. Applications where battery life is critical such as mobile phones and smart phones would find this feature highly desirable. This high speed graphics memory with low power consumption is also ideal in other portable applications such as notebook PC, game consoles and graphic cards.
Hynix expects to maintain its leadership position in the graphics DRAM market by using industry leading process technologies to build high speed, high density graphics memory products but with low power consumption.
